Whitaker's writing is infused with an infectious energy that makes Mia Stevenson's adventures a brisk and enjoyable read. Whitaker's writing style is bold and uncompromising, featuring a sharp attention to detail. Her often poetic and lyrical use of language effectively lures the reader into the finer details of her dramatic story. Stevenson is a tough and well rounded protagonist, ably assisted by her foul-mouthed counterpart, PI Will Goodsell. The central duo of Mia and Will are nicely backed up by a fine supporting cast of characters.A crime thriller that doesn't take its foot off the gas for a second, Whitaker's tense story raises expectations for further Mia Stevenson adventures to come.
